Pensacola: Two Young Girls and Their First View of the Ocean

DSCN6777

Friends: Heather and Montana (l-r) both age 13 — A photo diary of that first awe inspiring view of the ocean, and their hesitation at the edge of that magnificent expanse at Pensacola Beach, Florida. Granddaddy had to escort Montana on her first voyage into the waves. It wasn’t long before we were hard put to keep them out of it — of course, that was after Montana decided she didn’t like the taste of salt water. She got over it. Heather never had a problem. Bold as brass, that girl. Soon, snorkels were applied and they looked like big ducks bottoms-up in the waves. Of course, Michelle (Montana’s mother), and Grandma (me), and Granddaddy (Mike), had to join them occasionally.

Time to turn our steps homeward, back to the traveling home at the campground, leaving only our footprints behind.
